baby play: rings in water

Last week was very hot, and we had the sprinkler and baby pool out all day, every day, though, we really only ventured out in the mornings.  I wanted to have a few extra fun activities for John and May.  I gave May a bowl of water and added assorted rings to it, along with some ice cubes (which melted quickly!)  This was a fun and (very) easy sensory play for her in those mornings that she did not want to be splashed by her brother in his bigger (baby) pool.

This kept May occupied for a while.  She loved all the different rings and threw them out, then tried to drink the water.

I have seen this done with colored ice cubes before, which would be fun, but it was way to hot to try since the ice melted so so quickly!DSC07767 DSC07765

Happy Monday friends! I'm so excited to share a copy of this lovely book with one of you.
Art is not something I’m familiar with. Growing up, I thrived in theater and music, but never art. Unfortunately, I always felt like “I wasn’t good” or “that’s not my thing.” I’m sad about this! Since homeschooling my children, I’ve come to realize that I’m indeed a wonderful artist!! I can draw plants and bumblebees and even an octopus! I just need a bit of time, good materials, and a good teacher.
