10 Patriotic Songs for Children {free printable!} - Wildflower Ramblings

I am so excited to share my free printable of Patriotic Songs for Children with you today! As a Sergeant First Class in the United States Army Reserve, I am so proud to serve my great country!  I want to instill a love for country in my children as well.  I created these songs in hopes that it will be easier to remember to sing them with my little preschooler :)  And because us moms need help with the words too :) We keep these in our Preschool Notebook, along with some other free downloads {listed below!} that I have created!  We look through and recite many of these often and I hope these can be a resource to you as well!

The 10 Patriotic Songs for Children includes the following songs:

The Star Spangled Banner

My Country Tis of Thee

America The Beautiful

Battle Hymn of the Republic

God Bless America

You’re a Grand Ol’ Flag

Stars and Stripes Forever

This Land is Your Land

Yankee Doodle

We Shall Overcome

  {By downloading, you are agreeing to my Terms of Use.}

You can download the 10 Patriotic Songs for Children here!

We put them in our Preschool Notebook to sing in the mornings and throughout our days :)

Thank you for sharing this printable. I printed out a few weeks ago. I laminated each page, hole punched the upper corner and put them on a metal ring. We sing one each week for our morning time. My girls love it!

I really like all your ideas and appreciate your free downloads. Unfortunately I can not use any of the religious things since I am not working at a Christian Preschool now but I am saving them! Thank you for sharing! Continued blessings.

A lot of our historical, patriotic songs contain “God” and should still be able to be sung by schoolchildren!! :) Thanks so much for commenting, Mara.

I cannot believe I found this post today. Myself and an associate teacher were just saying we wish we had a list of songs to teach the students after each flag pledge (Bible, Christian & American Flag pledges). That you for this wonderful free download that I know will greatly influence mine, and my students class time next year. :)

Thank you for the songs. However, I think there is an error in “You’re a Grand Ole Flag.” Shouldn’t the line be, “the home of the free and the brave” so it rhymes with “wave”? It says “the brave and the free” on this song sheet. I haven’t taken the time to google it, just remembering the song from my childhood.

Thanks, Julie, I will try to change it — it is definitely supposed to rhyme ;)

I am late to the party just seeing this post. I wanted to comment that the spring program I teach my preschoolers is patriotic almost every year. I also use songs that are iconic american- such as She’ll Be Comin’ Around The Mountain, Bicycle Built For Two, and Home On The Range. Kids are losing these wonderful songs in the midst of our pop culture and I hated that our history was vanishing. The children love and embrace these songs and it makes my heart happy to know they will be recognized by at least some of our little ones!

Happy Monday friends! I'm so excited to share a copy of this lovely book with one of you.
Art is not something I’m familiar with. Growing up, I thrived in theater and music, but never art. Unfortunately, I always felt like “I wasn’t good” or “that’s not my thing.” I’m sad about this! Since homeschooling my children, I’ve come to realize that I’m indeed a wonderful artist!! I can draw plants and bumblebees and even an octopus! I just need a bit of time, good materials, and a good teacher.
