Where can you find beautiful children’s authors that promote high values and morals and are also interesting and edifying to the soul?
I often find myself in our local library. I ask each of the children to pick a book they’d like to read and they run out and find something. Well, how can I say it delicately, there are some very poor choices by authors and illustrators these days. It seems that anyone can get published! I really can’t believe the lack of artistry and prose in many of the choices for children.
It’s not that they are hugely inappropriate — though I believe some are — but they are either dull, or lack beauty, or have no purpose. It can be depressing when you take the time to be at your library and book after book that you pull out is just… well a lot of these books are awful.
