Share Wildflower Ramblings!

These Flower Counting Cards will help your child incorporate fine motor skills and numeracy! I hope your child enjoys these cards and homemade book as much as my children do. This is the perfect activity to place in a bag for on the go as well, as it requires concentration and determination.

My daughter was so excited to get to work when I placed the cards before her. {I cut and laminated them first. We use this laminator and these laminating sheets.} I first presented the Flower Counting Cards on a play mat with shallow dish of little paper flowers. These cards encourage one to one correspondence with the numeral number and the number of flowers that is placed on top of it.

You could also use poms or goldfish or m&ms — whatever you think may interest your child in counting.  Another way to use these cards is to place stickers on the little flowers. Naturally, flower stickers work the best.

And lastly, I have included a cover page for your child to create their very own Flower Counting Book!! Your child may enjoy coloring, so this is another way to include math skills into fine motor learning.

  1. Thanks for sharing, I am super excited about using these. Unfortunately, the printable divides the numbers 4-6 across two pages. Is there a trick to getting those numbers on one page when printing? Thanks!

    1. Kristen, you’ll need to save the pdf to your computer, then open from Adobe (not Preview)! Should work :) Hope that helps!!
