10 reasons to read to your child

I am happy to share this list of 10 reasons to read to your child.  I read to my child because, first of all, I love to read.  And I love children’s books.  I know that my love for literacy stems from my own mother, who read to us constantly when we were young.  But why…

Treasure bins are a small collection of similar items to put in front of a young child to allow them time of explorations and wonder! I set these sweet Treasure bins up for my daughter starting when she was around 8 months old.  Oh she loved exploring and having a bin all to herself for these…

the best board books for baby

I am so excited to bring my favorite and best board books for baby to you today.  Our family adores each of the books on this list — and it is fun for me to reminisce about each of them and their sentimental meaning. Love and affection and books.  All a baby or a growing…

Baby Play: Sorting Counting Bears

Counting bears can provide a fun learning and explorative time for babies and toddlers.  And sorting counting bears into colored cups is a fun and easy way for babies and tots to learn about colors and volume! May was so excited when I set up her cups and bears.  As she played, I reminded her of the…

Edible Finger Painting for Baby

My daughter loves arts and crafts far more than my son ever did.  Since we can’t use flour in our concoctions (due to my son’s allergies), I have to make do with other ingredients.  This recipe is so, so simple.  And makes for so much (safe  and edible!) fun for baby.  However, this edible finger…

gluten free cloud dough {12 months of sensory dough}

{This post contains affiliate links, please see my disclosure policy.}  Cloud dough is moldable, soft, squishy, lovely.  I love that this sensory dough is safe for baby.  That doesn’t mean it is “edible,” but it’s fine for baby to put a little in the mouth. My family is mostly gluten free.  This is due to the…

Valentine’s Day Heart Homemade Crayons {baby-safe and edible recipe!}

{This post contains affiliate links, please see my disclosure policy.}  My daughter is slowly beginning to love arts and crafts.  Which I love, because if you follow my blog, you know that sometimes it’s like pulling teeth to get my son to color.  He has to be enticed and then will be genuinely engaged for a…

Valentine’s Day: Easy Heart Crafts for Baby

Yesterday, I shared our Invitation to Paint: Valentine’s Day!  My son loved painting his big hearts that I cut out.  My daughter was eager to join in the fun, but she will immediately put paint in her mouth if I try to give  it to her.  But!  That doesn’t mean she couldn’t join in! All…

Happy Monday friends! I'm so excited to share a copy of this lovely book with one of you.
Art is not something I’m familiar with. Growing up, I thrived in theater and music, but never art. Unfortunately, I always felt like “I wasn’t good” or “that’s not my thing.” I’m sad about this! Since homeschooling my children, I’ve come to realize that I’m indeed a wonderful artist!! I can draw plants and bumblebees and even an octopus! I just need a bit of time, good materials, and a good teacher.
