lavender fizzy sensory dough

Today is the seventh month for the 12 Months of Sensory Dough series!! I did not know what to do for “Fizzy Dough”, but we made a volcano back in our Letter V Tot School, so I took the easy route and went with a good ol’ baking soda and vinegar chemical reaction.  Check out the other…

water play with flower petals

The days are getting hot.  But not too hot.  They are simply lovely, actually.  Warm enough to enjoy and (ice cold) soak in the baby pool. Our beloved peonies came, conquered, and died.  I let them petal-off onto my kitchen table because I just didn’t want their sweet smell to leave my home.  I adore…

Is there anything better (in the world) than a big bowl of fruit in the summertime?  Not for me.  I love fruit.  Every single kind I’ve tried (except bananas in the fruit salad — just don’t do it!)  Anyways — I thought it’d be fun to compile the best Fruit Activities for Kids that I…

Messy Paint Bombs {and a lesson in parenting and knowing my child}

We tried making some messy paint bombs last weekend.  I have been trying to discover fun ways to get my son excited about painting and creating, and I thought throwing balls or bombs of paint would be a fun exercise.  Fail.  He looked at it, turned his head, and went back to “mowing” the lawn….

Happy Monday friends! I'm so excited to share a copy of this lovely book with one of you.
Art is not something I’m familiar with. Growing up, I thrived in theater and music, but never art. Unfortunately, I always felt like “I wasn’t good” or “that’s not my thing.” I’m sad about this! Since homeschooling my children, I’ve come to realize that I’m indeed a wonderful artist!! I can draw plants and bumblebees and even an octopus! I just need a bit of time, good materials, and a good teacher.
