How to make a Felt Crab {ABC Felt Animals}
I am creating a felt animal for my son for every letter of the alphabet in a new series: ABC Felt Animals {check out all my posts here}! We have had so much fun making these animals together — and they are helping him learn the phonetic sounds of the letters, so it has been very worth the time and effort put in to make these felt animals!
Well, John had a choice between a Crab, Cow, Cat, and a Camel and he chose a Crab!!

All you need to make a Felt Crab is:
- felt: red and black (or you can use paper!)
- cotton balls
- hot glue gun (or Elmer’s if you’re just using colored paper)
- amazing Fiskar scissors (if you’re going to work with felt at all, you have to check these scissors out!)
** This craft uses a hot glue gun — please keep out of the reach of children — these are for adult use only!!
This has been my easiest felt animal yet! Yeah! This crab is so adorable, and so do-able, so I hope you try it! All you need to do is cut out two each of the whole template after tracing with a black marker on the felt. (Make sure to turn your crab over when tracing a second time so he lines up perfectly with no lines on the right sides!)
Here are my two sweet crabs — ready to be glued together!
Get your cotton balls on and glue them to stay in place!
Wo-lah. So adorable!
John loved his little crab.
Then, naturally, the crab immediately began to snap me with his claws! (Of course, after his felt bumblebee stung me!)
I made a template and a coloring page for you to make your own felt crab!
