best books about bugs for kids

February 26, 2015

We love bugs around here!!  I am so excited to compile the best books about bugs for kids.  These creepy crawly animals are well-loved by my kiddos and I wrote about letting go of my own “fears” of bugs, so my children would have a natural desire to learn about them.  Non-fiction books are perfect for young children — they help them to explore their world around them and learn about a topic that interests them!

We absolutely love the Big Book of Big Bugs around here.  My son currently cannot learn enough about dragonflies, so that is his project right now.  So far, we’ve made dragonfly wings and had a lot of pretend play and running around as little male and female dragonflies.

All of these bug books for kids teach children about insects.  Children learn through lifting the flaps, peaking at the secrets behind the pages, and expanding the pages, collecting and utilizing learning with stickers.  All of these books are amazing Usborne and Kane Miller Books.
