The Good and the Beautiful History Curriculum in Chronological Order

Here we have The Good and the Beautiful History Curriculum in chronological order for you to decide which Year you may want to use for your family!

I have had many requests for the order of the four years form The Good and the Beautiful! Particularly for those who want to do their work chronologically or may be using something alongside this history curriculum. We use A Gentle Feast and add in The Good and the Beautiful history as we see fit. We also do the Classical Conversations Memory work and choose sections that fit in with our learning. The Good and the Beautiful is lovely!

Each of the four years of history in The Good and the Beautiful history curriculum goes through four different time periods of world history, but they are not expensive, in terms of curriculum costs.

Each year includes a Lesson Guide ($35 each) and either a Big Book of Stories with Images and Maps (~$24, Years 1 & 3) or just Images and Maps ($13, Years 2 & 4). Each Year also includes Student Explorers worksheets for four different age groups, so they grow and challenge your student as they go up in grade level. Also included are audio recordings, these are one of my favorite part of the curriculum, they bring the history to life and my kids love listening during lunch time! For each year, there are Read Alouds suggestions for each of the four units, all wonderful, educational and clean choices for each history topic.

Each year also has a fun board game available for purchase. We have liked Year One’s game most of all as an overall review, but Years Two (“Settlers & Explorers”) and Four (“History Houses”) are fun too! Year Three’s game is on the Bill of Rights.

Here is our list of History, in order, from The Good and the Beautiful History Curriculum:

This is great! Have you used it in chronological order? Were the audible stories confusing out of order?

They are not confusing out of order! It includes a brother sister pair who have adventures with their aunt and uncle!

Art is not something I’m familiar with. Growing up, I thrived in theater and music, but never art. Unfortunately, I always felt like “I wasn’t good” or “that’s not my thing.” I’m sad about this! Since homeschooling my children, I’ve come to realize that I’m indeed a wonderful artist!! I can draw plants and bumblebees and even an octopus! I just need a bit of time, good materials, and a good teacher.
