Embracing the small things & my role as wife and mom
Grateful for these dishes and this clean water.
In the past (and I’m sure the future), I have felt bogged down by dishes. I’d rather be with the kids, or reading a book, or doing anything else at all.

But dishes and food preparation are a part of family life. More specifically they are a part of wife and mom life. And instead of having bitter feelings towards it, I’ve chosen to be thankful. So so grateful for this clean running water, for my yard outside, that my kids are making messes with art projects while I work., for my husband who works so incredibly hard to sustain our family.
I’m praying for a renewal of my mind.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2
I’m oh so thankful for the book, The Gap and the Gain, (affiliate links, I listened on audible and also got the hardback— we will be coming back to it again and again and again, and homeschool lessons will absolutely include this book!) — it is a Gain to have a home and these pots and pans.
(The Gap is thinking my husband needs to be doing them or having anger about them or thinking I should get a magical housekeeper to do them etc etc— any ideal that is not my life!) I need to be constantly renewing my mind!
I have a Scripture 365 perpetual calendar that has helped me meditate on God’s Word while I work too! This is such an amazing tool to keep God’s word in our hearts constantly!
When we are consistently walking in the Spirit, He will help us be more patient, more loving, more giving to our precious ones.
God is working in my heart every day to be a better mom, but more specifically, a better wife to my husband.
